HPA Counseling and Wellness Centers is pleased to announce our collaboration with Chinese Medicine expert Brenda Levin of Levin Therapeutics.  We have joined with Levin Therapeutics as we believe in a holistic model of behavioral health where at times, alternative therapies can accelerate growth in counseling or be an effective primary intervention for psychological issues.

Brenda is a medically licensed practitioner of East Asian Medicine (L.OM.) accredited through both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey state medical licensing boards. She also is nationally accredited as a Diplomat of East Asian Medicine Academy by the NCCAOM. She graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR with a dual Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and Integrative Nutrition.

Brenda’s practice in the world of East Asian Medicine began in 2007 when she received her 600-hour certification as a Shiatsu Massage Therapist and had a private practice from that time on. While pursuing her master degrees, Brenda completed her three-year long clinical rotation shifts in community clinics. This included working with people in need of a wide range of care from drug and alcohol detox centers, to providing acupuncture to the homeless and those struggling with active addiction, men’s centers/halfway houses, primary care hospital outpatient clinics as well as focused care in oncology, autoimmune disorders, HIV and pain management. She also was a supervised peer counselor at the National University of Natural Medicine’s counseling center. Brenda has over four years of experience using acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine as a means to help people. She has been offering individualized nutrition counseling since 2015.

Brenda Levin provides alternative treatment for physical and mental health issues. Her practice at Levin Therapeutics integrates multiple modalities of acupuncture including Chinese herbal medicine, nutrition counseling and shiatsu massage therapy. She works with a wide-range of clients seeking care in areas such as general wellness, pain conditions, acute illnesses and injuries, fertility, prenatal and postnatal support, weight management, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, mental-emotional issues, drug and alcohol-dependence, withdrawal and detox care. Her specialty and passion surrounds supporting people with cancer and managing chronic conditions such as multiple sclerosis, HIV, and other autoimmune disorders. Brenda also works with patients in patterns of addiction, via addressing nutritional deficiencies, lifestyle and behavioral support, and most importantly, emotional support. Brenda has helped hundreds of people feel better and is honored to help you – wherever you are on your journey.

Benefits of Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a 3,000-year-old healing technique of Chinese Medicine that is based in working on all aspects of a person’s life such as diet, lifestyle, mental wellness, exercise and spirituality to greatly enhance one’s well-being. Science can not yet explain why acupuncture works, but it is trying!

Acupuncture can treat a variety of conditions from migraines, insomnia, hot flashes, cancer-medication side effects (chemo, radiation, surgery, hormonal medications, etc.), nausea, morning sickness, fertility issues, menstrual disorders, the common cold, chronic pain, arthritis, broken bones, tendon or tissue injuries, stress, anxiety, panic attacks, addiction/withdrawal/cravings support, grief, mental health issues, autoimmune disorders, HIV/AIDS support, women’s and men’s general health and wellness; sports injuries, etc.

In 1997, the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) documented and publicized acupuncture’s safety and efficacy for treating a wide range of conditions. You can find this document here:
